Richard became interested in acting at Secondary School, and was for many years involved in various local youth theatre productions, including musicals, plays and pantomime.
In 2003 he was accepted into the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, with whom he also trained. At Lancaster University he studied a BA in History finishing with a 2.1 degree. Whilst at Lancaster he also performed in nine productions, with roles including The Maniac in Dario Fo’s Accidental Death of an Anarchist, and Mozart in Peter Shaffer’s Amadeus.
Upon leaving University he held a leading role in the open air production of The Pirates of Mutiny Bay at Alton Towers, before attending Mountview on the Postgraduate Acting Course. Since leaving Mountview, Richard has signed with Peter Cleall's agency Pelham Associates.
Recent work includes T.I.E with the Rainbow Theatre Company in Spain, and John in an adaptation of The Yellow Wallpaper.
