STAGE appearances include:  Sweet talk, The Free State, The Lights, Remembrance, Driving Miss Daisy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Pied Piper, The Little Foxes, South Sea Bubble, The New Hardware Store, Two Can Play, An Echo in the Bone, In the Mood and Alterations.

Allister specialises in Storytelling, mainly based on the African Oral Tradition –Anancy Stories of which Maya Angelou said, “I’ve heard these stories from my Grandmother, from Africa to the Caribbean and America, but never heard them told like this before. MAGICAL!”

His most recent play PARDON MY SIMPLICITY was successfully tried out at the Rosemary Branch Theatre. Previous plays EFFIE MAY and CATALYSTA presented at the Oval House Theatre, received rave reviews.

Allister started Grenada’s first professional Folk Dance Company and after appearing in the film “Island in the Sun” with Harry Belafonte and Dorothy Dandridge (taught and danced the limbo with her in film), came to England to broaden his experiences and further his career.

He has worked consistently on stage, TV and films in Europe and Africa. Allister is presently preparing stories to perform in Black History Month in October.

For Thee Black Swan Theatre Company Allister played “Rigaud” leader of the mixed-race “Mulattoes” in “Black Spartacus” which can now be heard on Wireless Theatre Company as a four part mini-series.
